Location: Carpenter Canyon is located along the upper slopes of the Spring Mountains, about 30 miles west of Las Vegas. The project site is the portal to the Carpenter Canyon Research Natural Area. The RNA is located within the Mount Charleston Wilderness and the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area and noted for its Bristlecone Pines.
