National Park Service Monitoring Program:
Conducts a variety of research projects in wildlife, vegetation, and archaeology at Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Parashant National Monument, with responsibilities ranging from inventory, monitoring, and research, to database management, report writing, and public presentations.
Wildlife Monitoring & Data Management: Conducting surveys, research, and data management throughout Lake Mead National Recreation Area and other public lands to address:
- desert tortoise monitoring;
- federal highway monitoring as it affects desert tortoise and bighorn sheep habitats;
- relict leopard frog monitoring, management, and research; and
- peregrine falcon, other bird, and ungulate monitoring and management to preserve and conserve species of interest.
Vegetation Monitoring & Data Management: Conducting surveys, research, and data management throughout Lake Mead National Recreation Area and other public lands to address:
- invasive plant monitoring and management;
- shoreline and aquatic plant monitoring;
- rare plant monitoring;
- conservation planning; and
- monitoring technical assistance to preserve and conserve species of interest.
