Take Pride in America: Anti-Litter Strategy for Southern Nevada
The Take Pride in America Program is creating a comprehensive and coordinated campaign that will effectively encourage clean-up and discourage littering and illegal dumping on public lands in southern Nevada. The program’s objectives include:
- Designing and implementing an anti-litter and desert dumping strategic plan.
- Organizing annual clean-up events and establishing ongoing clean-up efforts that use alternative workforce options.
- Strengthening law enforcement and judicial system support for anti-litter regulations.
- Increasing trash receptacles and collection on southern Nevada public lands.
- Providing information related to litter and desert dumping on southern Nevada public lands.
- Developing an interagency recycling program strategic plan.
The interagency campaign will protect some of the nation’s most remarkable and rugged natural landscapes. It will also generate healthier and more productive public lands by informing and engaging citizens who participate in keeping their public lands clean.
